Originally we started with your basic four piece quartet, but over the years we kept growning into what we have today a seven piece group we can alway scale up or down to fit the event and or the venue. As one of the industry's most respected local bands, The "South Bay" Project has built its reputation on its innate ability to blend R&B, Jazz, Pop, Blues, Soft Rock, Reggae and Gospel. Led by Dummer Amahl Lipkins From Detroit, Michigan better know as "Mr. Motown" who embodies an edgy yet magnetic stage presence, the group emanates an electrifying energy while pouring its heart into every performance. Resistant to conformity, this Atlanta based band isn't afraid to push the boundaries of music or themselves. The most challenging part of the band was finding out who they really are and being able to blending all the different sounds together. This self managed, independent band has over 100 engagements per year involving Community Concert Series, Large Festival, US Military, Local Night Clubs & Restaurant, Church Concerts, Family & Class Reunions their energetic show delight fans of all ages.
This amazing band was featured on "Inside Atlanta Music" a local cable TV Show that showcase up and coming new & undiscovered artist. While performing here in Atlanta the band released their first CD single entitled "Dancing In The Dark" a great up tempo R&B love song, currently in the studio working on their second CD single release and also working on their third DVD release schedule for mid to late 2017.
